Formation and Reconstruction of Naïve Concepts among Science Undergraduates at National University

This study conducted a questionnaire survey from 2013 to 2018 with the aim of clarifying process forming naïve concepts, and reconceptualizing them. 319 science undergraduate students at national university participated in study. The analysis 434 concepts described by respondents revealed following six points: (1) Naïve tended form elementary school for both boys girls. (2) girls were more likely younger age than boys. (3) field physics less them biology, while biology. (4) A comparison causes formation demonstrated that fields physics, chemistry, concept was based on actual experience childhood logic, understanding intuition, abstraction or invisibility, others’ advice, respectively.
